Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Global Services in Franklin, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Service Marketing builds and be responsible for the implementation of the global service portfolio strategy and road map; planning and execution throughout the lifecycle of each service offering to drive service sales growth, including: collecting and prioritizing market requirements for services, defining the vision of our service offerings, and working closely with R&D, engineering, sales, marketing and all support functions to ensure financial and customer happiness goals are met.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

Portfolio Development & Management

  • Actively participate in NPI process for new products (instruments/systems) to ensure products are being crafted with serviceability in mind.

  • In collaboration with Product Managers, conduct, analyze and use Voice of Customer (VoC) research to develop and price service offerings.

  • Operationalize offerings, including close partnership with Legal on Terms and Conditions, Finance on portfolio gross margins and operations for part numbers and descriptions.

  • Work with Downstream Marketing to develop marketing materials such as brochures, webpages, videos, etc.

  • Direct Service Parts Manager to set and lead pricing strategy for all service offerings, spare parts, and billable services

Revenue & Metrics Tracking

  • Act as lead point of contact for services bookings, revenue forecasting and critical metric tracking

  • Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly performance updates to sales, service, marketing teams and BU Leadership Team

  • Represents the Service team at bookings and revenue OSM sessions

Service Sales

  • Directly run the global Service Sales Reps team to ensure that they are delivering results that meets or exceeds target.

  • Define critical metrics and ensure accurate pipeline management to improve sales efficiency

  • Conduct training for sales and service team on new service offerings; make joint sales calls with regional instrument sales managers and leaders to present service capabilities to key customers

Strategic Planning

  • Understand markets we sell our products and services in and competitors

  • Work closely with the Director of Service and EPM Marketing Team to help develop service global strategic plan and annual operating plan.

  • Work on division level projects including service portfolio harmonization, technology and portfolio roadmaps, service website development & management, competitor analysis, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • 5 plus years demonstrated experience preferably in a service product line management role

  • Strong project management skills and able to balance multiple and sometimes shifting priorities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or general Business Administration, MBA preferred

  • Organized, self-reliant and accountable

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Service Marketing, Service sales or experience working with Service teams

  • Ability to mentor and influence individuals at all levels of the organization

  • Experience with CRM, preferably Salesforce and ERP systems

  • Familiarity with software systems including Tableau, Eloqua, Adobe Analytics, SPSS/SAS and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Knowledge of the environmental and process monitoring industry is a plus
