Location/Division Specific Information

The Market Intelligence Manager is part of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) which accelerates innovation and improves productivity through process, portable and environmental solutions that take technology from the lab to the line and the field for life sciences manufacturing, industrial and safety applications.

How will you make an impact?

The Market Intelligence Manager develops customer/market/business insights to enable CAD to better serve our customers and drive the overall growth strategy and performance for CAD globally. This role will develop the division's understanding of our customers, markets and competitors through establishment of operating mechanisms, delivery of business analytics and overall integration of insights as the foundation for decision-making. This role will be highly engaged with CAD Leadership and their global teams playing an integral role in the strategic and portfolio planning, business reviews and leading the development of content for critical leadership presentations to customers, channel partners, and/or the Thermo Fisher Executive Leadership.

What will you do?

  • Use your understanding of CAD markets, competitors and customers to provide a distilled and actionable synthesis of available data to CAD Leadership in regular intervals.

  • Analyze current and future CAD markets to provide accurate and up-to-date market segmentation and sizing and track trends that will lead to opportunities to transform the marketplace and accelerate CAD growth.

  • Establish and lead a process to monitor the competitive marketplaces that CAD serves. Includes running a regular mechanism to report out to the CAD Leadership on competitor strategy and activities and the synthesis of information on market conditions into key actions and input to day to day business as well as formal business reviews.

  • Lead insight generation to inform product portfolio strategy, including customer and patient dynamics, competition, market segmentation, entry into new markets, and achieve growth and profitability goals by product and market segments in partnership with Marketing, Commercial and R&D.

  • Provide insights to inform and provide leadership in development of the CAD annual strategic plan.

How will you get here?

Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or related field; will consider equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience as a business analyst within a business, consulting firm, or corporate development.

Travel

Domestic and International travel 5% or less of the time.

  • Strong project management, consulting and problem-solving skills.

  • Skilled in market modeling, market & customer segmentation, and third-party data integration.

  • Experienced in visualizing key data trends & insights, and synthesizing key implications.

  • Ability to understand business strategies and prioritize activities appropriately.

  • Inventive in solving problems.

  • Standout colleague with excellent written / verbal communication and team skills.

  • Strong organizational doer with keen attention to detail.

  • Proactive, engaged, and accountable.
