Staples is seeking a highly qualified, VP of Pricing, Portfolio and Vendor Management for the Merchandising organization. S/he needs to have a proven track record of creating competitive value by leveraging insights from data to improve business processes.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Merchandising Operations: Responsible for operational oversight for core operations of Promotions Management, Content, Catalog, Deviations and Proprietary management.
Merchandising Planning and Category Strategy: Continued focus on evolving the performance management and planning discipline. In addition, advance the Category Strategy and re-vamping the Line Review / assortment strategy / curation process.
Reporting and Analytics: Responsible for accessing and aggregating data across channels and functions (customer, promotional, product, cost-to-serve) and simplify and provide better insights to our merchants.
Vendor Management: Drive our CPI (Category Profit Improvement) efforts and improve our discipline across all cost management functions including the Key Supplier Program, Dead Net Costs management and Vendor Rebate Management. Lead the charge in improving merchandising process across several key initiatives.
Retail Pricing: Deliver an improved strategy, improved data science and analytics and flawless production and execution. Utilize data science as the main driver in retail pricing strategies from supporting all of our promotional optimization work to evolving our strategy.
Education and Experience and Skills Required:
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in pricing, portfolio or vendor management
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
Demonstrated skills in new thinking and best practices
Ability to successfully work and partner with various teams, both internal and external as well as domestic and international
Highly organized individual, with exceptional prioritization and time management skills and proven ability to manage others
