Danaher Corporation Technical Product Manager – SCIEX OS in Framingham, Massachusetts
At SCIEX we are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager to join Software Product Management group to support development of core software platform. They are tasked with scope/schedule trade-off decisions, monitor the progress of product development, analyzing customer opinions and feedback, and ensure implemented product features add value to end users. They will be co-located with development team.
The Technical Product Manager will report into the Software Product Management group and work closely with the Product Manager and Technical Product Managers in managing the lifecycle of the product. This individual will take high-level direction from and escalate major decisions to the Product Manager. Responsibilities will also include:
Prioritize and advocate customer and business needs into the Product development team
Translate the user persona and collaborate with a cross-functional team including research, development, service, support and Product management to develop product requirements
Ensure the product requirements are executed upon during new product development
Define the validation strategy and contribute to and approve the validation plan
In collaboration with Product Manager author User Needs Document
Collaborate with key customers and end users to further develop workflows and application areas during product development
Rapidly engage product line director when project deliverables are off-track
Understand customer workflows and task flows across markets relevant to product under development: Food, Environment, Forensics, Biopharma, Pharma, Life Sciences Research (Proteomics, Metabolomics, Lipidomics)
Interface with Tech marketing team be current and able to replicate customer workflows across market segments for product under development
Collect and analyze customer VOC relevant to product under development
Evaluate and provide feedback to technical de-risking and development relevant to new product/s under development
Conduct/Support external customer evaluation to gain customer insight and test value of features and/or product
Collect competitive intelligence on competitor’s offerings relevant to product under development
Support Launch to Excellence process and generate marketing data for launch in collaboration with tech marketing
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
BSc, MSc, PhD level technical degree in life science
3-5 years hands-on software experience
Experience in working in agile teams
Training and certification as a professional scrum product owner (PSPO) or as a certified scrum product owner (CSPO) is an asset.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: ability to dissect problems and projects into manageable tasks.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate the product development team of an organization
Interpersonal Skill: Strong team player who has a proven track record of working effectively in a cross-functional, matrix environment and with user groups.
Proven ability to make decisions, positively influence others, and work well in a fast-moving environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact well with people at all levels within an organization
Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Customer focus, value driven – passionate about working to develop software products to address customer needs.
