What you’ll be doing:
We’re looking for a Senior Brand Strategist to join our entrepreneurial team of strategic, creative, self-starters as we build a best in class private brands business. As a critical team member, you will be responsible for building, leading, and executing a growth plan for our furniture brand – Union & Scale - one of Staples’ most strategic private brands.
As the Brand Strategist, you will:
Bring an expert-level fluency across strategic planning functions such as brand strategy, creative strategy, product marketing, innovation, content strategy, or digital strategy.
Develop a deep understanding of our brand health, consumer personas, mindsets, attitudes, values and behaviors across our private brands audiences and products
Integrate customer insights and relevant brand trends into our brand strategy and creative output
Influence and inspire the creative process by working well with creative teams
Ownership of developing the content strategy for Union & Scale
As the leader of Brand Governance, you will:
Own the brand architecture and maintain brand standards for Union & Scale.
Drive the creative briefing process for all design projects, ensuring that design deliverables meet requirements and objectives of each creative brief.
Support all creative requests related to product packaging and marketing, attending reviews to ensure creative remains on brand.
Ensure creative work [product, package, marketing] reflects the design principles and effectively aligns with the brand personality.
As the owner of the Innovation and Insights process, you will:
Advocate for the consumer through ownership of innovation strategy and pipeline creating forward-thinking successful concepts rooted in insights and business needs.
Lead findings that create actionable audience, market or white space opportunities that make significant business impact
Deliver a continuous flow of new products backed by customer insights that drive customer loyalty and EBITDA.
Partner with business leaders to drive innovation programs by gaining an understanding of their business and aligning on opportunities
Manage the customer insights investment including budget and on-going pipeline of research projects
What you bring to the table:
Developing new insights; questioning conventional approaches; encouraging new ideas; designing and implementing new solutions.
Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals
Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies. Implementing plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization in a changing environment
Using own understanding of competitors' offerings, market drivers and innovation trends to create and/or seize business opportunities
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications
8 years of relevant work experience with 5 years focused on strategic planning for an ecommerce business
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, marketing, or other relevant degree
Fluency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
