Staples Product Specialist - Ink & Toner in Framingham, Massachusetts

What you’ll be doing:

The Product Specialist – Buy Side role is responsible for assisting the Senior Category Merchant in managing over 2,000+ items within the Commercial/B2B Ind and Toner category. Key responsibilities of the role include managing the sku set-up process (start to finish) as well as all item maintenance, building and managing the Master Assortment tracker, tracking deviations, and working with all cross-functional partners, including distribution partners and Staples, Inc Affiliates.

What you bring to the table:

  • Alongside Merchant, manage Master Assortment and build/maintain item tracker that is utilized by all BU counterparts

  • Facilitate communication of new items and forecasts across Sell-Side, all BU Counterparts (.com, SBA, Quill, Essendant, HiTouch, and other acquisitions), Inventory + Planning, SBG, Vendor Management, etc.

  • Process and communicate any cost increases via PCW Process

  • Responsible for financial review of vendor and analysis of vendor and assortment, and any other ad hoc reporting as requested by merchant

  • Ability to handle high volume of Field inquiries daily, and provide support by utilizing problem solving skills quickly and efficiently

  • Communicate effectively and proactively with Distribution network and Wholesaler team to identify assortment gaps, and add new items at best cost to Master assortment as necessary

  • Support Sell-Side Merchandising teams as well as Generalist salesforce with RFP’s and Proposals. Basic operational knowledge of Alts, Subs, SKMA, PIP/PROP and Bids/Deviations helpful.

Qualifications :

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in business or related field

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or relevant business experience

  • Ability to work independently and execute across multiple groups

  • Good verbal and written communication skills necessary

  • Leadership mentality

  • Organized, proactive personality, ability to multi-task

  • Skilled in Microsoft Suite
