Looking for a friendly face to join our small doctor\'s office! You\'ll be the first person our patients see, so we need someone who\'s great with people. You\'ll be scheduling appointments, keeping our patient records organized, and making sure everyone feels welcome. Key Responsibilities Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors: Providing a friendly and professional first impression, directing individuals to appropriate areas, and answering general inquiries. Scheduling appointments: Managing the appointment calendar and accommodating patient needs. Answering phone calls: Handling incoming calls, taking messages, and directing calls to appropriate staff members. Maintaining patient records: Updating and organizing patient information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Verifying insurance coverage: Collecting insurance information, verifying coverage, and obtaining necessary authorizations. Collecting payments: Processing co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments. Managing the waiting area: Maintaining a clean and comfortable environment, ensuring adequate supplies, and addressing patient needs. Assisting with other administrative tasks: Supporting healthcare providers and other staff members with various administrative duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a medical office setting: Prior experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare providers. Proficient computer skills: Familiarity with electronic health records \"EHR\" systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities. Knowledge of medical terminology: Understanding of basic medical terminology and procedures. Compassion and empathy: A genuine desire to help others and provide excellent patient care. Additional Requirements Ability to work in a fast - pace environment: The medical office can be busy and demanding, requiring the ability to handle stress and maintain composure. Flexibility and adaptability: Willingness to adjust to changing priorities and work schedules as well as travel between offices. Adaptable and Flexible: Able to accommodate changing work schedules and priorities, including travel between office locations. Professional appearance and demeanor: Maintaining a professional image and adhering to office dress code.
