Staples Digital Product Manager, Mobile in Framingham, Massachusetts

Description

The Staples US Retail team is transforming our Stores into the definitive Working & Learning destination for local communities. In support of these efforts, we are designing and building a new and differentiated mobile app experience that inspires customers to visit our retail locations, augments and enhances their shopping experience in store and then rewards them when they check out. To help lead this ambitious effort, Staples US Retail is seeking a proven mobile product management professional interested in merging the virtual and physical aspects of retail shopping towards creating a frictionless and uplifting transactional experience for the end user.

We are seeking a strong Product Manager with proven experience shipping mobile apps that will shape, deliver and maintain a suite of digital products required for enabling a new omni-channel digital experience. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in our digital transformation effort reinvigorating our brand and market positioning without the shackles of technical or business constraints of an established brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Own delivery of customer facing mobile digital products and their ability to achieve desired business outcomes

  • Be the Product Owner role in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, standups and retrospectives

  • Develop and continually maintain mobile product related roadmaps, release notes, ticket backlogs, and user stories

  • Work closely with digital product designers and marketing stakeholders to distill compelling end to end user experiences

  • Participate in guiding Staples US Retail Digital product direction, cultivate a point of view on product vision informed by metrics, customer needs and competitive market analysis

  • Ruthlessly prioritize between business objectives, customer needs, store associate requirements, corporate strategies and market demands to shorten the time to value of delivered features

  • Play an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release or Sprint Goals

  • Maintain a strong commitment to meet agreed qualitative and quantitative business unit and corporate objectives

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • A university graduate who possesses a relevant degree or an equivalent level of real-life experience

  • Currently or most recently employed as a Product Manager

  • Participated in a product management capacity in launching a mobile app currently live in the Apple App Store and/or Google Play

  • Highly empathic to the needs of end users and possess the ability to translate them into an engaging digital experience

  • Experienced in incorporating measurement into feature development

  • Experienced in working with JIRA or Pivotal Tracker

  • Experienced with Google Analytics, Heap or similar analytics packages for evaluating the performance of deployed applications

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experienced with Loyalty and Digital Marketing technology platforms a big plus

  • Experience with useability testing a big plus

  • Experience with web technologies a big plus

  • A self-starter who is familiar and comfortable with all facets of technology enabled digital product delivery and digital product life-cycle management
