Customer Insights Manager

Your Role

You are a Customer Insights Project Manager that will partner with Staples’s internal clients across Marketing, Merchandising, Sales, and other business groups to manage qualitative and quantitative research initiatives to support their business decisions. Your insights will enrich the organization’s knowledge of the customers and the marketplace while identifying trends and opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead projects with key stakeholders and external partners to design studies, manage execution, analyze data, and drive insights to guide business decisions.

  • Turn questions and hypotheses into actionable research initiatives.

  • Select the right research methodology to fit the need and/or suggest other approaches for gathering consumer insight.

  • Carefully manage vendors to deliver actionable insights via qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Distill insights from a variety of sources (primary research, secondary industry reports, competitive intelligence, and operational business measures) to provide clear and actionable recommendations for our business partners.

  • Day-to-day responsibility for ongoing research initiatives, including vendor management and reporting and sharing of insights.

What Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years in market research or customer experience at the client, consultancy, vendor, or agency.

  • Strong quantitative analysis, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Knowledge in areas such as quantitative and qualitative techniques, new product development, measuring success in the market, and how to track progress.

  • Strong ability to communicate about insights simply and clearly with passion, understanding, and candor.

  • Strong attention to detail and strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and internal cross-functional team members.
