What you’ll be doing:
Drive growth for all Staples business units by leveraging all of the technology distributor supplier capabilities including their assortment breadth, product expertise and service offering
Significantly grow the Staples technology assortment for all business units while also maximizing sales and profit
Manage existing technology distributor assortments, including product life cycle, inventory, and promotional considerations
Leverage gap analyses and technology distributor suppliers’ product experts to identify & recommend new technology products and categories to add to the Staples assortment
Develop vendor-specific strategies to ensure that we are partnering with the optimal vendors
Develop a total merchandising plan based on sales objectives which includes partnering with customer acquisition and development groups, managed accounts sales program, channel marketing, customer relations, and IS.
What you bring to the table:
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint & Access)
Ability to work with all business units to develop strategies to utilize funding to drive sales
Capability to implement selling strategies across all business units and channels
Partnership building skills to work with Staples Merchandising and Sales teams to identify opportunities, develop strategies and drive initiatives across multiple business units
Partnership building skills to work with vendor product champions from technology distributor suppliers and manufacturers to develop, execute and optimize program and promotional opportunities
This position will be a technology distributor supplier expert within Staples having a full understanding of: Staples merchandising strategy, process and systems, Supplier capabilities and strategy (product, service, system capabilities, etc.)
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications
- Three or more years of retailing, buying, merchandising, marketing, or related experience
What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business discipline, or the equivalent in related training or work experience
