As our new Product Manager for HMI/SCADA, you will require a high levels of commercial judgement to achieve desired business outcomes. You will be responsible for creating strong working relationships & influence across executive leadership, product management, engineering and other functional groups to execute the strategy across GE businesses, partners and customers. You may mentor one or more junior product managers or technical product managers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- As a domain expert for your portfolio, you will engage customers at mid-level management and technical levels to develop/refine portfolio strategy, influence customer & industry direction and execute strategy. You will elevate how we engage with internal and external software businesses. You will be accountable for driving successful delivery of products from GE Digital, making recommendations on extending software solutions, and representing General Electric to the outside market, including customers, partners and analysts. In this role you will:• Accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.• Be responsible for product line performance with targets on orders, revenue, cost & margin.• Drive vision & strategy, roadmap and product lifecycle for GE Digital and its portfolio of Manufacturing Software products & solutions.• Participate in events and industry associations to influence the direction for the business and technology in the segment.• Be a domain/business expert for the portfolio to guide and mentor teams, and establish/refine product management processes.• Work cross functionally across engineering, marketing, sales, internal and external customers, analysts and senior management teams to formulate and execute the strategy.• Establish and manage relationships across GE businesses & sub-businesses, partners and customers at director level and above and technical expert levels across industries and geographies.• Establish strong working relationships with account managers, technical sales and user/developer community.• Global travel required as necessary.• This role is responsible for a large product or portfolio of products/solutions with typical revenue influence / target in the range of $50-200M USD per year.• Have strong financial acumen and accountability.• Be responsible to create strong working relationships & influence across product management, engineering and other stakeholder groups to successfully execute business strategy and ensure product delivery across GE businesses, partners and customers.• Engage customers at director level and above as a trusted partner.• Provide and promote cross functional leadership to define and execute the vision and strategy.
This role requires significant experience in the Product Management & Digital Product Manager. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Industrial Automation solutions, Software Product Management, Commercial Program Management, and/or Software Financial Modelling.Must be willing to travel 25-50% of the time.

Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.• Proactively drives portfolio and investment decision to balance customer needs, install base requirements (refresh) and long term enterprise differentiation.• Evangelizes concepts beyond current offerings and considers business model innovation (product, service and delivery innovations )• Defines and/or influences pricing strategy for product/ services and alignment across functions and organizations• Aligns goals, feature sets, capabilities to business objectives for the product (i.e. Profitability, ROI, Market Penetration, Channel development, Brand Development, etc.)Business Acumen:• Developing specialized knowledge of latest commercial developments in own area, identifying and influencing market trends and opportunities.• Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
