Job Description Avery Dennison is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join the Fastener Solutions division. In this position, you will be aligned to the packaging and retail business and responsible for leading the P&L and commercial strategy. You will provide vision and direction to the organization and drive execution to achieve the strategic and P&L goals for this product portfolio. You will conduct market research and studies in order to analyze and present potential markets for new or existing products or services for Fasteners Solutions product lines and market segments. To be successful, you should be a collaborative leader with experience in demonstrating top and bottom-line results. You will report to the Global Market Manager, Packaging & Retail and be based out of our location in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Critical Objectives & Outcomes Assist in analyzing market, competitive and tactical information to help better introduce/implement products, programs and services. Assist in the strategic and tactical/business plans which effectively lead to the development of new businesses within the company. Execute P&L analysis to understand key drivers of the business Support and/or lead the development of segment insights and corresponding innovations, technology trends and new products to meet the needs of the customers and end users. Provide input to the strategic and annual operating plans; collaborate with cross-functional team to meet evolving market needs. Utilize the A3/Strategy deployment process to communicate key strategies and tactics in addition to executing against them. Provide daily pricing guidance/approval to the sales team. Execute a portfolio management approach to optimize growth and profitability; drive and influence strategies where logical. Support and/or lead execution of multi-generation product plans including collaboration with: Marcom and Sales on product promotions, training, sell sheets, data sheets and other sales tools and communication of product and service program changes R&D, Supply Chain and Sales in the development/implementation of service and product strategies. Handle critical value chain relationships with key customers, end users and third party influencers. Develop & implement pricing guidelines to improve product line growth & profitability. Qualifications Bachelor?s degree within a business subject area or related field 2 years of previous experience in sales, marketing or in a related commercial function. 2 years of previous technical or commercial experience with plastic fastener products, or packaging industry, or comparable manufacturing industry preferred Hands-on experience with product, customer and/or competitor analytics Ability to influence & execute among an informal, cross-functional team in a matrixed organization Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various partners who may have contending interests Validated project leadership and critical thinking skills; ability to work efficiently on several simultaneous projects in a dynamic environment.
