Position Title: Food adn Beverage Director

Reports To: General Manager

Salary: $90,000 to $95,000

Job Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Menu Development: Curate and design beverage menus tailored to a diverse range of events, ensuring alignment with client preferences, event themes, and budgetary constraints

  • Client and Sales Team Collaboration: Serve as a key point of contact for the sales team, offering expert guidance on beverage selections to enhance client satisfaction and ensure event success

  • Wine Program Management: Oversee and adjust wine offerings in accordance with seasonal trends, ensuring the selection remains fresh, relevant, and appealing to clients

  • Specialty Cocktail and Mocktail Creation: Innovate and develop seasonal specialty cocktail recipes, providing staff training on current beverage trends and ingredient knowledge to elevate the guest experience

  • Supplier Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local liquor suppliers to guarantee consistent supply and competitive pricing for bar operations

  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with cocktail ingredients, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste

  • Tasting and Client Interaction: Present cocktails, mocktails, and wines to clients at tastings and be able to answer any questions clients might have throughout the event planning process

  • Industry Research: Stay abreast of emerging trends and new products in the beverage industry, incorporating relevant innovations into the beverage program

  • Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate closely with the sales, culinary, and event teams to ensure seamless beverage service for all events, maintaining a high standard of quality and client satisfaction

  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit detailed weekly or monthly reports, including inventory requisitions, product loss, and product transfers across various venues and events

  • Storage & Efficiency: Organize and manage beverage storage areas to optimize inventory efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain compliance with health and safety standards

  • Team Engagement: Attend and actively participate in weekly operations meetings, contributing to team discussions and operational improvements

  • Staff Training & Certification: Lead and execute a comprehensive bar training program for event staff, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as TIPS Certification

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries

  • Event Support: Assist with the management and execution of catered events as needed, ensuring that beverage services meet the highest standards

  • Ad-hoc Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management, adapting to the dynamic needs of the business
