Job Description

The Program Director of Ever to Excel has the overall responsibility for promoting and implementing this program of Spiritual Exercises for high school students. Guided by the wisdom of Saint Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits, Ever to Excel aims to transform students from around the world through opportunities to live Jesuit spirituality so that they might learn more about their place in the world and how to create a more meaningful life within it. The Program Director ensures that students deepen faith, engage in conversation, serve others, reflect, and explore Boston College and the city of Boston.

S/he is charged with expanding the overall visibility of the program, including increasing participation both among high school students and Boston College undergraduates who serve in the program as Mentors. Currently offered each summer during a single week-long session, the Program Director is tasked with growing Ever to Excel in order to meet the University's goal of offering this program up to four times each summer. S/he will apply the Jesuit, Catholic mission and vision of the university in order to enhance Ever to Excel programming. S/he must be visionary in the continued development of the Ever to Excel program, from concept to execution. S/he will apply the Jesuit, Catholic mission and vision of the university in order to enhance Ever to Excel programming. S/he will manage the recruitment and admissions process and manage all communication to prospective undergraduate students and high school student participants, current students/participants, and alums/past participants. The Program Director will work with the Institute's Associate Director who oversees the Lilly Foundation reporting, both fiscal and narrative reports, for the Ever to Excel program. The Program Director will also collaborate with the Associate Director in managing the work with the Fiscal and Operations Administrator in administering the budget for this program

The Program Director must work well in a team-driven environment, as well as independently. Evidence of successful program management and strong communication skills are required, as is a strong understanding and ongoing awareness of the Jesuit Catholic mission and a willingness to learn about its current trends and standards, as they relate to the vision of Ever to Excel. The Program Director and the Ever to Excel program receive support and inspiration from both the Church in the 21st Century Center and the Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $67,100 to $83,850; salary commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

Master's degree required with a strong preference for graduate degree either in theology, education, or administration.

Experience working in an educational environment preferred.

Event and/or program management experience required.
