Job Description Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, Marketing & Participation, the Assistant/Associate Director of Annual Giving, Marketing & Participation is responsible for assisting and implementing the development and management of the Boston College Annual Giving, Marketing & Participation direct marketing program, supporting efforts for affinity groups and special initiatives as well as marketing production for the Senior Class Gift program. With the goal of increasing both discretionary dollars raised and overall alumni giving participation, he/she assists with the development of effective solicitation and stewardship strategies that utilize email and digital-based marketing channels, direct mail, and telemarketing for fundraising. The Assistant/Associate Director is a vital contributor to the successful implementation of multichannel appeals, including day-to-day project management, end-to-end production management, and tracking and reporting fundraising results. The Assistant/Associate Director will also be responsible for managing BC's Trending Eagles, social media ambassador program which includes collaboration with partners across University Advancement to maintain an annual calendar that drives engagement and supports annual giving strategies. Other responsibilities include data management to pull and prepare mail and email lists, solicitation tracking, and online giving page production. Together with the Director of Annual Giving, Marketing & Participation, the Assistant/Associate Director will be expected to help develop specific strategies for the annual giving direct marketing program, including identifying challenging segments, learning and developing best practices as it relates to annual giving, and continually improving fundraising results for BC. To be successful, the Assistant/Associate Director must be comfortable working with databases and software. Data analysis and technical competencies with a sophisticated database and desktop programs are required. Additionally, he/she will maintain and foster relationship with vendors related to direct mail, email and web-based tools, while effectively representing the interests of Boston College.
