We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our team for the summer. The Financial Reporting Process Improvements intern will focus on improving financial reporting processes, with a specific emphasis on automating reports and enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of our financial systems. The ideal candidate will have an academic background in accounting or finance, coupled with strong report writing skills. This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with our finance and accounting teams while contributing to important process improvements.

Key Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting Automation: Work on automating the annual statement pages reports by utilizing tools such as Crystal Reports and Power BI.
Report Development: Assist in building and customizing reports to enhance financial reporting processes.
Statutory Accounting Mapping: Validate and analyze current statutory accounting mappings in our financial software to ensure accuracy.
Replicating Reports: Replicate and standardize reports currently produced for New York (NY) to be applied for Life of Boston, ensuring consistency and completeness.
Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for improving reporting efficiency, accuracy, and provide support in process optimization.
Qualifications
· Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Technical Skills: Familiarity with report-writing tools such as Crystal Reports and Power BI (or similar software). Strong proficiency with Excel and financial software applications.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
· Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and a keen interest in financial data analysis.
· Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
· Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute to process improvements.
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Previous internship or coursework related to accounting or finance is a plus.
This internship opportunity has a start date of Monday 6/2/2025 - Monday 8/11/2025.
Hybrid Work Model
At our Canton location, employees will be on site Monday - Thursday starting 5/1/23. At our Omaha location, employees will be on site 2 days per week.
