Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist, with oversight from the Senior Marketing Manager, provides daily and ongoing project support to the acquisition marketing team for all external communications activities including current/future direct mail and digital marketing campaigns; print collateral, advertising; field-based and community activities such as events and sponsorships; and sales materials management. The Marketing Specialist will also provide administrative support to the Marketing, and Field Sales team in the areas of collateral inventory management, record keeping, maintenance of project status reports, coordination with external vendors/partners and other internal partners as needed, budget tracking, invoice, and PO processing, and ensures the accuracy of the information is compliant with corporate requirements and Medicare Marketing Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing

  • Campaign and Marketing Project Support

  • Works with team to support acquisition projects across consumer audiences (e.g., New to Medicare, Annual Election Period) and regions (CT, NH)

  • Works with team too support Brand awareness projects across consumer audiences, providers, and Sales channels.

  • Supports team with key daily activities such as content reviews, securing vendor quotes and schedules, and ensuring projects stay on schedule.

  • Participates in weekly status meetings – internally and with key outside partners.

  • Works with Senior Manager on special projects, as needed.

  • Ensures list suppression data files and other data requests are fulfilled in a timely manner.

  • Utilizes customer relationship management software (SalesForce.com) for campaign set up, management and optimization.

  • Develop content ideas, review copy for communication materials to ensure accuracy and relevance, including, but not limited to website, direct mail, broadcast TV, print, radio, digital, and plan specific collateral.

  • Materials Management (Proofing, Inventory, Fulfillment)

  • Reviews materials to ensure consistency with strategy, tone, brand, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitors inventory levels of all printed acquisition materials (in house and at fulfillment center)

  • Supports the development and distribution of all acquisition materials as needed including sales kits collateral, event materials, print advertising, sponsorship materials and promotional items.

  • Manages the development and distribution of sales and product materials for the broker community.

  • Facilitates and oversees all internal copy center requests for acquisition marketing team.

  • Helps ensure all acquisition department files are up to date and easily accessible via designated servers, portals, and other systems.

  • Work with marketing team, designers, and vendors to ensure visual identity of member communication materials is consistent, meets objectives, enhances the content, and adheres to marketing standards and brand.

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

Education, Certification and Licensure

  • Four (4) year college degree required; preference for BA/BS in marketing, communications, or advertising.

Experience :

  • Seeking an individual with at least 2 – 4 years professional experience.

  • Health care (or other highly regulated industry) experience is highly desirable

  • Consumer marketing

Skill Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of the principles of communications and marketing – preferably for consumers.

  • Basic knowledge of branding, design principles and print production – highly desirable, but not required.

  • Comfortable with light writing and content development – for clarity and audience.

  • Must be flexible and highly adaptable to shifting priorities and demands.

  • Comfortable working independently as well as within a team environment

  • Proactive and detail oriented.

  • Mature attitude and professional demeanor.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Internet-based research, and Adobe Reader.

  • Basic accounting skills to ensure accuracy of budget submissions and invoice tracking.

  • Comfortable supporting a team and juggling multiple activities, simultaneously.

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements :

  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.

  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.

  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
