Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Provider Network Contracting, in this highly visible role, the Director of Behavioral Health Network Strategy is responsible for contract strategy for the entire BH Network for the Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial suite of products across multiple states. The Director of BH Network Strategy will be a thought leader and central point of contact for the BH Network withing the organization. Will enable a high performing BH provider network and will foster and maintain strong relationships with strategic providers to support achievement of shared plan and provider objectives.

The Director of BH Network Strategy is member of the Provider Network leadership team and will be actively engaged in division strategy, planning and performance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing

  • Lead strategy for advance market intelligence to ensure a best-in-class BH network

  • Assesses all product BH provider network needs for each market (services, provider/facility types, network adequacy)

  • Supports geographical analysis of member access to care gaps

  • Ensures operational, strategic, and tactical alignment across the negotiation teams

  • Develops new and enhances existing relationships with BH Trade Organizations and BH providers across multiple states

  • Represents the Plan at BH Trade Organizations’ meetings

  • Create VBP programs for multiple provider types

  • Development of network BH training and reporting materials

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master’s degree preferred

EXPERIENCE (minimum years required) :

  • 5 years of BH network build and or management experience

  • Comfortable in a matrix environment

  • Proficient in influencing teams that do not have a direct reporting relationship


  • Proficient in Power Point, Excel, and Word

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel) :

  • Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.

  • Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.

  • May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.

The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a broad range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization. The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; equity with internal colleagues; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive total rewards program, colleagues are also eligible for variable pay. Eligibility for any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits remains in the Company's sole discretion and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
