WEB AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to support J-PAL’s mission by leading the design, execution, evaluation, and improvement of its policy outreach work through digital media, primarily their web, YouTube, and social media outlets. The main role will be to collaboratively develop content and then implement dissemination activities via external electronic communications, with a key focus on effectiveness. Responsibilities include content development work with policy team and research staff to develop content at a high technical level on economic research and social policy; managing digital content on J-PAL’s website, povertyactionlab.org, ensuring that content across the website is clear, consistent, and error-free; project managing the development of new website features, liaising with the external web developers and advisors to implement projects; video content production, management, and editing of J-PAL’s YouTube channel; recommending and implementing improvements to electronic communications activities and J-PAL’s digital strategy; and developing detailed recommendations—based on analysis of metrics--for senior management of steps to take to improve effectiveness and impact. REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in digital communications, multimedia design, fine arts, or a related field; three years of relevant professional experience; experience with web content management and a CMS such as Drupal, social media, Google, and web analytics; and knowledge of Salesforce, YouTube management, and video editing.
