VIDEO PRODUCTION SPECIALIST, Office of Digital Learning (ODL)-MIT Video Productions (MVP), to support in execution of all field and studio productions. Will assist with all aspects of MVP productions, including field supervision of video production and freelance/contract personnel; stage field production recording kits and serve in a variety of roles as studio director, technical director, video engineer, lighting director, and/or videographer; assist with technical development of products and services, including researching next generation services. Will report to the associate director of MIT Video Productions. MVP is a full-service, in-house video production provider and that captures approximately ninety events/lectures/field productions per week during the academic year.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in related film, video production, or communications area; at least ten years’ professional video production and production management experience, preferably in an academic video production unit; experience scheduling and managing production activities and staff in a busy video, film, or television facility; extensive knowledge of video production processes, including lighting and camera technique; experience in an engineering studio and field using multicamera recording systems; strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple and diverse tasks and deliverables and adapt to the changing requirements of live event environments; experience participating in the strategic planning and technical development of products and services, including researching and recommending future operational directions and equipment updates; an interest in and willingness to stay informed about new and rapidly changing video capture technologies; knowledge of ENG/EFP and DSLR cameras and other professional production equipment; and knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems, particularly in relation to presentation, event/lecture capture, and streaming services.
