Four years of progressively responsible administrative or project management experience.
Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and student development, and experience building compelling student-facing programming.
Excellent oral and written communication and collaborative leadership skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively with wide range of stakeholders, including student populations;
Demonstrated analytical skills and excellent attention to detail;
High level of discretion and good judgment; ability to work with and manage confidential information;
Ability to multi-task, plan, and execute complex projects and take initiative and work independently.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Graduate studies or professional experience related to student engagement, civic engagement, social justice, and equity and opportunity is preferred;
Experience with group facilitation, including with participants from a range of ages and experiences.
Understanding and familiarity with Harvard University operations and the Harvard student experience, from first-year to advanced graduate students is preferred.
Track record of collaborating productively with diverse sets of colleagues.

Develops and manages AV&E-related student engagement initiatives for Harvard undergraduate and graduate students in collaboration with departmental colleagues and other across the Institute;
Collaborates with the Associate Director of Pilot Projects and the Community Partnership Lead to expand Radcliffe’s Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), a mentorship program focused on gender and leadership launched at Radcliffe in 2020-21.
Manages student recruitment efforts and relationship management of Harvard College students selected as ELP mentors; contributes to ELP curriculum development, mentor trainings, and program delivery, including facilitation of select sessions;
Collaborates with Practitioner-in-Residence to support student working groups related to Radcliffe focus area on Law, Education, and Justice, including groups in carceral spaces;
Leads student programs connected with leading faculty, visiting speakers, fellows, and exhibitions, including content development, outreach to participants, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborates on additional student-engagement strategies with AV&E and Institute staff;
Identifies and develops opportunities for curricular engagement related to AV&E programs and exhibitions and coordinates outreach to relevant faculty;
Develops opportunities for Harvard students to propose programs and provides guidance and support to students throughout the process;
Manages application process and facilitates cohort experience for Radcliffe Engaged student grant programs;
Participates in and collaborates with the Radcliffe Student Advisory Board;
Presents AV&E student engagement work to internal and external stakeholders and audiences, including Radcliffe staff and leadership, faculty, donors, and others, as requested;
Works with Radcliffe’s Communications team and other colleagues on strategic student-facing communications, including outreach efforts, student-related sections of the Radcliffe website, and student newsletter;
Maintains excellent working relationships and effective communication with staff, faculty, and students across the Institute and University to promote coordination, collaboration, and information sharing;
Manages project timelines, budgets, and relevant project and departmental databases and documentation; collects, analyzes, and shares relevant data, including through integration with new Radcliffe CRM system; reports on projects and metrics as needed, orally and in writing;
Other duties as assigned.
May supervise assigned workers including Harvard students and/or temporary employees.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Academic Ventures and Engagement (AV&E), the Student Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and managing a large portfolio of new and existing student engagement initiatives within the AV&E department and for contributing to, and coordinating with, efforts in other programs as part of the Harvard Radcliffe Institute’s strategic goals for enhanced student engagement.
