About This Role:

The Senior Editor primarily focuses on copyediting and maintaining the high quality of Forrester’s written products, ensuring that copy follows a consistent editorial style. The Senior Editor builds close working relationships with colleagues in research, certification, and other product areas of the company to ensure top-notch quality in Forrester’s written content. The Senior Editor must be able to work independently with little direction, as well as work collaboratively on a team. The Senior Editor uses experience and problem-solving ingenuity to develop best practices for creating an efficient editorial workflow.

Job Description:

  • Copyedit, proofread, and provide a light content edit on a variety of research and product deliverables, including graphics and spreadsheets.

  • Collaborate with content creators to ensure that deliverables are correct, clearly written, and accurate and that they reflect Forrester’s style and integrity.

  • Maintain data consistency across document files, ensuring that graphics visually convey and enhance the main idea of the written material and that corresponding spreadsheets are accurate.

  • Manage the relationship between editing and one or more research, product, or functional teams (e.g., certification, events, marketing). Coordinate workflow, and edit deliverables, developing an understanding of each team’s industry and its related terminology.

  • Act as a point of contact for editorial questions, helping internal clients with processes, guidance, and templates.

  • Edit other materials, including digital content, events presentations, and marketing collateral, as needed. Ensure that all materials are written correctly and styled appropriately.

  • Assist with writing and editing internal documentation, checklists, and templates.

  • Maintain the integrity and overall quality of Forrester’s written communications.

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree; English, journalism, or communications majors are preferred. A thorough knowledge and love of the English language is essential.

  • At least four to five years of copyediting experience in a professional publishing environment. An understanding of the technology industry and related terminology is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Associated Press style. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style is a plus.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality.

  • Strong communication, time-management, and decision-making skills; the ability and willingness to handle time-critical editing requests in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to build rapport with content producers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively with internal clients located around the world.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change with a positive mindset and a willingness to take on new challenges that result from innovation and the evolution of Forrester’s digital offerings.

  • Excellent computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Familiarity with Salesforce and/or WordPress is a plus, as is experience with one or more content management systems.

  • Familiarity with graphic editing and design software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, is a plus.

  • Experience with web editing and blogs, data and statistics, and/or editing documents from non-native English speakers is a plus.
