Microsoft Corporation Sr. Business Program Manager, Strategic Communications in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Customer Success Executive Communications team is seeking a Sr. Business Manager to join our team to develop and execute strategic communications to support Customer Success business objectives. If you enjoy fast-paced collaboration, high-visibility, high-impact initiatives and are a strategic communicator who can visualize data and speak to a highly technical audience, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for someone that has a blend of business acumen and communications experience with a passion for technology and solutions. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer, have technical/product acumen, and be an independent self-starter with a track record developing communication plans or strategic initiatives, landing key messages for an internal global and diverse audience of 3000 employees.


  • Identify, recommend, and implement creative (and fun!) methods for communicating with employees through a variety of channels, including, but not limited to, social platforms, listening and feedback systems, intranet, podcasts, videos, presentations, newsletters, all hands meetings, and emails.

  • Write internal articles, messages, briefing documents, scripts, newsletter copy, and help with to create fresh and innovative All Hands content.

  • Work closely with the Executive Communications Director to ensure accurate representation of CVP style, vision, and voice in all communications.

  • Manage an editorial calendar, working with stakeholders throughout the organization to determine how we share our story.

  • Identify gaps and create new initiatives to support a dynamic and cohesive employee experience. Work closely with business, communications, marketing, and engineering counterparts as a trusted communications partner and advisor.

  • Build predictable and structured communications rhythm. You will collaborate to help create and drive a framework for a yearly rhythm of business calendar and communications activities based upon our strategic priorities.

  • Identify and leverage metrics and KPIs to play to measure results based on program objectives.

  • Drive comprehensive special project campaigns across Customer Success Solution areas, including supporting leaders as needed.

  • Drive new programs as needed.

  • Understand our business and its people, acting as an advocate for the employee perspective.


  • Prior experience creating and delivering executive communications, including experience managing a portfolio of resources that span the communications mix: email, newsletters, events, videos, and internal tools for a highly matrixed organization.

  • Proven ability translating technical, product or analytical data into consumable content and narrative.

  • Creative storyteller with an eye for graphic design and multi-media creative (PowerPoint, Sway, videos, etc.)

  • Ability to provide clarity amid rapidly changing priorities and direction, with a structured approach to problem solving and decision making.

  • Strong organizational skills, cross-organizational collaboration, and examples of balancing competing projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to ruthlessly prioritize and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, engineering, or relevant experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in executive, technical and corporate communications, business or technical program management.
