INNOVATION FUND DIRECTOR, Solve, to establish and run the Solve Innovation Fund, a planned donor advised fund (DAF) held with a sponsor organization. The fund will be designed to support technology-driven solutions, be open to global innovation, use a portfolio approach to address global challenges, and serve as an innovative mechanism to distribute grants and make investments in Solver teams. Will play the leading role fund-raising, structuring, deploying, and managing the fund in consultation with Solve leadership, the fund’s investment committee, MIT’s leadership, and external advisors; and finalize the fund’s structure and governance, design its term sheets and processes, and fund-raise to meet financial and impact goals and help realize Solve’s mission. Once established, will oversee financial due diligence of eligible Solver teams, prepare materials for and make recommendations to the investment committee, manage DAF sponsor relationships, and manage grants and investments. Solve is an MIT initiative advancing lasting solutions from tech entrepreneurs to address the world's most pressing problems. REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); ten years’ experience, including at least five in fund-raising and investing, preferably in venture capital and/or impact investing; ability to manage a portfolio of investments >$2m; experience managing high level investors and stakeholders; highly-developed organizational skills; flexibility; and ability to work independently, take initiative, anticipate needs, and effectively prioritize and plan work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
