Job Description:

Come work for Platform Engineering (PE) within Microsoft Digital and help shape the future of business process at Microsoft! Our team is accountable for Microsoft’s internal SAP ERP suite of solutions. PE is seeking a Senior Program Manager to join the SAP Professional Services Team to drive the delivery of business scenarios and capabilities on our SAP ERP solution as our organization continues to work to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more.

As a Product Manager for SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM) capabilities for Microsoft Consulting Services, you will be personally involved in identifying the customer pain points, problems, driving the implementation of business requirements & features that enable our mission critical business partners. You will work closely with peers across teams (inside Microsoft Digital and across the company) to help build flexible and high-performing SAP Solutions that enable next generation of business services. This is a data-driven and fast paced environment where ideas can be taken from conception to scale. It is a great opportunity to work on something highly strategic to Microsoft!

The Microsoft implementation of SAP is a large-scale enterprise solution featuring SAP (FI, CO, SD, SCM, PS, HCM, VL ,OEM, GTS, BPC, Tax, etc.) running on Azure. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are motivated to grow their careers in SAP and Microsoft technologies.


The SAP Product Manager is accountable for capturing customer pain points, problem statements, gathering business requirements, prioritizing requirements, and ensuring that solutions are delivered as per requirements and aligned to the technology Roadmaps which support the business roadmaps and future business scenarios.

The SAP Product Manager must quickly establish the trust and confidence of our business partners by developing/demonstrating:

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft’s system landscape and business processes.

  • Support for the business by addressing the customer pain points and leveraging the opportunities to improve systems and processes

  • Strong collaborative relationships with key business users to deliver reliable, supportable business solutions

  • The ability to learn and adopt relevant new technologies, tools, methods and processes from Microsoft and industry.

  • The ability for problem-solving, technical innovation, and attention to detail.

  • The ability to independently drive results and consistently meet deliverables on projects with aggressive timelines.

The SAP Product Manager ideally should possess detailed working knowledge of standard SAP capabilities and have business processes knowledge in the Consulting Services domain and surround systems (upstream and downstream ).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate customer obsession through regular customer interaction to capture business pain points.

  • Become a subject matter expert in the business processes to identify opportunities for automation and integration on SAP to accelerate business objectives.

  • Create a vision, value proposition, and product roadmap for improvements and enhancements

  • Partner with business stakeholder to define objectives and key results.

  • Define, prioritize, and drive functional scenarios and features.

  • Regularly groom business requirements, manage a product backlog, and break requirements down into features with defined acceptance criteria.

  • Conduct product demonstrations during sprints for early feedback

  • Partner with software engineers and users to create business acceptance test cases

  • Make data-driven decisions through capturing business impact and deliver the right outcomes to business.

  • Ensure required functionality is delivered according to Microsoft standards, aligned with portfolio roadmaps.

  • Support Domain Architects in the definition of solution and technology roadmaps and industry standards.


  • 10-15 Years of experience as an SAP Program Manager, Product Manager, Functional Analyst, or Solution architect with SAP Commercial Project Management (CPM), Project Systems (PS), and Project Costing/Settlement

  • Business process and functional knowledge in SAP CPM, PS, and Project Financials

  • Proven success and experience in collaborating across engineering, business, and operational teams, up to and including working with Partner/GM level stakeholders.

  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting skills along with sound judgement and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and desire to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment

  • Experience working with geographically diverse groups.

  • Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.

  • A strong understanding of Software life cycle methodology and Information’s systems development and support.

  • Ability to work independently and ramp-up to new areas quickly

  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies

  • Sound judgment, decision-making skills, and ability to work under continual deadline pressure

  • Demonstrable passion for continuous applied learning & development

  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity without stalling progress

  • Metrics and data focused and passion for solving customer problems

  • Ability to build trusted partnerships and manage stakeholder expectations.

Preferred, not required:

  • Professional Training and Certification: PMP, SAP.

  • Experience in working on large scale global enterprise implementations with hands on experience in customization/configuration of SAP solutions.
