BeiGene Senior Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting in Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Commercial Operations and Business Analytics (COBA) team is building out a robust Business Intelligence Reporting and Analytics capability for the Commercial and Global Medical Affairs organization. To further enable and develop these capabilities COBA is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting.

The position will serve as the strategic partner and technology leader to enhance Beigene’s Commercial and Medical Affairs Business Intelligence reporting project. This position will partner closely with Commercial/Medical Affairs stakeholders. The person in this role will be responsible for planning and executing the Business Intelligence reporting and analytics capabilities for Commercial and Medical Affairs Organization. Additionally, the position will focus on requirement gathering, visualization and analysis to build, maintain and enhance Business Intelligence applications.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Manage the delivery of ongoing enhancements to BeiGene’s business intelligence platform. Oversee design and implementation of critical enhancements to Reports and Dashboards, working with business stakeholders and implementation partners

  • Lead meetings with the cross-regional (North America and Europe) and cross-functional teams including Sales, Market Access, and Marketing within Commercial and Global Medical Affairs to understand information needs and translating them into Dashboard and Reporting requirements

  • Manage project activities including enhancement backlog, delivery timelines, roll out and release plan with the key stakeholders from cross-functional teams. Work collaboratively with cross functional partners, driving alignment on key priority enhancements and release plan

  • Monitor and plan for key business milestones including product launches, team expansions and re-orgs, portfolio expansion etc. that have implications on BI reports and dashboards. Manage and plan for changes in a timely manner to support key business critical events

  • Develop strong understanding of primary and secondary data assets available within BeiGene across Commercial and Medical Affairs function, and driving effective utilization of these data assets to generate business insights

  • Partner with Business Analytics team in continuous evolution and enrichment of business intelligence solution. Catalog and understand, standard and repeatable insights that are presented during business reviews and work towards automating repeat analysis through Reports and Dashboards.

  • Collaborate with Commercial & Medical Affairs team to understand their data requirements, and work with data partners, and vendors to develop an intuitive data provisioning layer to facilitate key business insights

  • Execute standard operational refresh cycles for reports and dashboards, and ensure highest standards of data quality and user communication with each operational refresh

  • Manage the internal reporting and analytics stakeholders to ensure sustained scalability in the expansion of the overall capabilities

  • Provide key business knowledge in enhancing Master Data Management and Data warehouse to support analytics, KPIs and dashboards.

  • As needed, work with cross-functional teams in the establishment of scalable BI solution to enhance dashboard and reporting capabilities.

  • Hold vendors/partners accountable to deliver the business critical changes on time and within budget

  • Maintain project documentation such as business requirements documents, technical design documents, mapping document, data flow diagrams, dashboard and report specifications, etc.

  • Enhance communication channels for data inquiries, issue reporting and resolution for Reports and Dashboards

  • Monitor and improve ongoing platform utilization and user engagement.

  • Leading training and roll-out sessions, office hours, and developing FAQ documentation, etc to drive adoption of BI platform

  • Identifying and driving process improvement opportunities and applicable monitoring reports

  • Anticipating and analyzing trends in technology while assessing the emerging technologies in the business intelligence space


  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical industry working in Commercial Operation or related experience

  • 5+ years of experience in information technology design, implementation, and/or analytics platform (Business Intelligence, data warehouse, ETL/transformations) support in the biotech/ pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong experience in Business intelligence and analytics technologies like Tableau, Power BI, QlikView etc, and database solutions like Redshift, BigQuery, EMR etc.

  • Experience with Channel data providers, Specialty Pharmacy data, Specialty Distributor data, Patient Hub data, Data warehouse, and Reporting solutions is a must

  • Strong Experience with syndicated market data and claims data from vendors like IQVIA, Symphony Health etc.

  • Experience with Sales and Medical Affairs CRM (Interaction, MIR, Events etc)

  • Knowledge of Medical Affairs operation (MSL, Publications, Research, Clinical Trials etc.) is preferred

  • Strong data compliance experience with pharmaceutical business knowledge andtechnical aptitude to define and advance commercial solutions

  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills and presentation and project management skills

  • Ability to coordinate needs assessments across the commercial organization, and an ability to deliver a comprehensive solution to those needs

  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a matrixed environment, and an ability to build solid relationships / make connections across the organization

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and solid business acumen with the ability to manage and provision large amounts of data to enable business analysis with a high level of performance and trust

  • Strong project management and delivery experience, including project planning, delivery management and release management

  • Ability to articulate complex technical problems and solutions to a wide business audience and communicate solution value

  • Must be able to identify operational weakness and implement corrective action/plan

  • Proven ability to grow and develop others
