SENIOR LIBRARY RELATIONS AND SALES ASSOCIATE, MIT Press, to work with the senior manager, library relations and sales on building and growing business and maintaining long-term relationships with the academic library market. Will take a lead in developing new relationships with library partners through individual outreach, collective campaign coordination, gap analysis, and finding creative solutions that including considering new tools, processes, and workflows; take responsibility for developing new sales approaches and ideas in coordination with the senior manager; help to train new team members and offer mentorship in sales support, including to other cross-departmental sales positions such as textbooks sales; proactively coordinate with other internal departments, including digital products and services and journals and digital products customer service, to ensure customer engagement and success and finding and implementing solutions for excellent discovery, delivery, and access to content.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years of experience, preferably in publishing, sales, information science, or customer service; ability to work independently and cross-departmentally with an understanding of the varying needs of differing teams; ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships; and data management and analysis skills. Seek someone who is solutions-driven and able to pivot and lead in the face of changing needs and focus on the detail while seeing the bigger picture. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree and experience with the academic library market. Job #21116-5 Will travel to select library conferences and university campuses (when possible).
