Microsoft Corporation Senior Experience Designer in Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Office of the CTO for Microsoft is chartered with understanding, shaping and accelerating technologies and their impact on Microsoft, the industry and society. We drive initiatives that span across the organization, requiring multiple teams to collaborate towards common goals and engage in activities that inform the CTO and the Senior Leadership Team and move the needle on Microsoft’s strategic and technical direction.
This position can be fully remote.
Your job is to inspire, disrupt, provoke thoughts, and spark conversations by challenging the established design practices. You will be responsible for creating novel user experiences, prototyping ideas, and collaborating with teams to take the ideas to execution. Deliverables include design mockups, prototypes, and production of visual assets.
While having an eye for aesthetics, you should be able to sketch a broad range of ideas and take them from scrappy to high fidelity in multiple iterations. You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision. You will share work and engage with cross functional teams and leaders across the company and gather feedback to iterate, learn and influence.
Experience in interaction design and user experience design.
Ability to think outside the box, comfortable with ambiguity and fuzzy project briefs.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a creative, hands-on, and dynamic environment.
A wide range of prototyping skills ranging from low fidelity to polished.
Highly skilled in one or more of Adobe Creative suites, Figma, Sketch, or other design tools.
Ability to clearly communicate concepts and designs through sketches, videos, high fidelity comps, and prototypes.
Attention to detail and aesthetic sensibility.
Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles.
Education and Experience
- Multi-disciplinary backgrounds and non-linear career paths are encouraged. Strong portfolio showing a broad range of experience in interaction and interface design or similar is desired.
