SENIOR EVENTS PRODUCER, OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS, EVENTS, DONOR RELATIONS AND STEWARDSHIP, Resource Development (RD), to plan, lead, execute, and evaluate events for the cultivation, recognition, and stewardship of major donors and prospective donors to MIT. Will be responsible for developing strategic plans for events and the tactical and logistical details such as event budgets, collateral, venues, catering, audiovisual, transportation, hotel room blocks, police details, etc. The work involves management from conceptualization through evaluation for a wide variety of events, including intimate donor dinners, content-driven multiday programs, large major donor events, and virtual meetings and webinars; regular interaction with senior officers, faculty, and top-rated donors and prospects; and collaboration with a wide range of RD staff, vendors, and service providers.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ experience working with complex events; experience supervising volunteers and vendors; experience managing high-level in-person and virtual events; excellent interpersonal, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills; ability and willingness to function as part of a cohesive team, always working collegially and collaboratively in a fast-paced demanding environment; discretion with confidential/sensitive materials/issues; and excellent command of English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is able to manage several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision, develop and manage project timelines and budgets, work effectively under pressure, especially when challenges occur; and can act as an ambassador for MIT. PREFERRED: experience working in fundraising in higher education; Macintosh experience; Familiarity with donor databases and event tools, e.g., Cvent and Social Tables; experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, G-Suite applications, and other collaboration tools (Slack, Dropbox). Some evening, weekend, and early morning work will be required, including working long hours during peak periods before and during events.Domestic and occasional international travel will also be required.This position will be hybrid, with a combination of on-campus and remote work.4/28/22
