As the Senior Director of Search & Evaluation for China you’ll lead business development opportunities from the US and EU to China, supporting sustainable business growth across various divisions including General Medicines, Specialty, and Vaccines. This role involves leading deal negotiations and closures, maintaining key external relationships, and promoting the understanding of China's strategic growth objectives within global teams. Main responsibilities:

  • Lead business development initiatives from the US/EU to China, focusing on identifying, screening, and evaluating opportunities across multiple divisions.

  • Serve as the External Innovation lead for China, establishing and maintaining relationships with US/EU biotech firms, and evaluating emerging opportunities.

  • Propose and manage west-to-China deal opportunities, ensuring alignment with corporate governance and decision-making processes.

  • Maintain and develop key external relationships, identifying new potential partners, and tracking industry developments.

  • Promote the strategic growth objectives of the China business within global teams.

  • Moderate international travel is required, up to twice a year.

About you:

  • Experience in deal structuring, financial modeling, and valuation in the pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare industry.

  • Strong background in clinical development or scientific research, with a track record in external R&D, partnering, or business development.

  • Excellent project management, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Proven networking ability in cross-cultural environments with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Negotiation skills and performance-oriented project management abilities.

  • Problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills, with the capability to represent the company externally.

  • Degree in a healthcare-related discipline; PhD preferred.
