Microsoft Corporation Senior Director, Microsoft Ads Strategy in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Our team’s charter is to define, pitch, fund, and track strategies to grow and monetize our consumer business across our broad portfolio of Office, Ine Drive, Windows, Gaming, Xbox, Edge, Bing, MSN, Surface and many more. This is a new role at the company with unmatched upside. With the rapid growth in the digital ads industry, at Microsoft and beyond, there is an opportunity to expand the business by focusing on ads as a monetization lever. We need a strong, strategic and collaborative leader to frame that vision and drive short-term and long-term results. You lead a team of rock star business planners who are experts in strategic thinking, analytics, exec communication and delivering results.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

  • Attract, retain, and grow a high performing Business Planning team, while contributing to culture of the entire organization

  • Create and execute business models and strategies to drive revenue growthand create clarity.

  • Develop business cases for new frameworks, success definition and investment - and pitch to Microsoft’s most senior executive team

  • Work with senior executives and their organizations to foster collaboration, alignment and drive positive customer and business outcomes.

  • Partner closely with finance teams to monitor and refine market initiatives, identify opportunities and risks and track progress against a core set of OKRs.

  • Narrate the state of the business against team OKRs in front of executive audience

  • Lead with trust, inclusion and valuing diverse perspectives and ideas.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, business strategy, monetization or other relevant functional experience (e.g., analytics, finance, engineering)

  • 3+ years of leading teams

  • 3+ years in the Digital Ads industry

  • Demonstrated executive communication, presentation, and strategy alignment experience.

  • Experience in developing business cases through sound business judgement, collaboration, data benchmarking and validation through research and testing.

  • A strong track record of working across diverse stakeholders and influencing positive outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in driving Supply Side ads businesses (e.g., driving volume and inventory)

  • Experience in tracking and driving both short-term execution revenue goals, and developing strategies for long term growth

  • Demonstrated ability in taking over scope in ambiguous environments by shaping own roles to create maximum impact

  • Track record of managing a business in a cross-functional environment
