Are you passionate about research in the field of materials science? If so, we may have the perfect job for you., both fundamental and applied, nano to macro, in the field of materials science. This includes research encompassing nanomaterials, energy materials, biomaterials, electronic and photonic materials, structure, performance, magnetic materials, soft materials, polymers and computational materials science. A strong knowledge base across multiple material topic areas is an asset.
Successful candidates will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to help shape and launch the journal. Responsibilities will include assessing submitted research papers, making editorial recommendations, and overseeing the peer review process; commissioning, and shaping review- and commentary-type content; traveling to scientific conferences, and developing strong ties with the relevant research community; organizing scientific conferences; and contributing to Cell Press’s growth and innovation projects.
Some of the key attributes that we are looking for in the ideal candidate are
(1) A Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline including, but not limited to, materials science, chemistry, or a closely related field.
(2) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
(3) Broad scientific interest in science and publishing
(4) Interest and experience in scientific communication, and outreach.
(5) Critical thinking and the willingness to learn and absorb new areas of research
(6) The ability to successfully work independently and in diverse teams

This is a full-time editorial position. Our preference is for a candidate based at the Cell Press headquarters in Cambridge, MA. However, we are also open to candidates who would be located in our London or Beijing office.
