Oracle Sales Consulting Director in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sales cycle.

As part of the Oracle sales team you will direct and manage pre-sales resources throughout the sales cycle. Provides technical/functional leadership to the sales team in the development and implementation of customer applications and customer products. Participates in account planning and strategy development. May publishes technical information of specific applications and/or technical articles. Works with management to define new products. Serves as the company liaison on specific technical projects with customers.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Knowledge of software industry relating to all aspects of ebusiness solutions. Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong presentation skills. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

Summary:



This role is responsible for building and managing a large presales team that meets monthly, quarterly and annual quota objectives. The team works in tandem with the direct sales organization that works primarily with prospects and new customers. As the head of the North American Software Services and Media presales team you will add value throughout the sales process and ensure your team is supporting the industry sales teams effectively. You will bring a depth of experience in presales management with previous enterprise software experience as an asset. You have proven success coaching and mentoring team members with a desire to grow and build the team, including the development of first line managers. You will be responsible to drive the strategy for the presales team supporting these verticals, deal with escalations and partner with key executive members in the organization to drive new sales. You enjoy a challenge and are able to deal well with shifting priorities. **

Responsibilities:


  • *Manage and prioritize business goals and sales execution for a team of 4-8 managers and 35-60 Solution Consultants

  • *Manage at a senior level and drive business targets across functions, influencing results primarily through first line manager direct reports

  • *Represent the team, industry segments, and company on important sales events with polished, high impact presentations and communications

  • *Influence the development of customer relationships, particularly for software, services, and media industries, including at the executive level

  • *Add value to strategic planning processes, including SC resource allocation and the go to market and product roadmap plans for those key industries

  • *Negotiate appropriate resource planning and drive quality across segments

  • *Work on multiple and complex issues that drive business line results for these industry teams

  • *Develop the careers and contributions of first line managers

  • *Ensure high quality contributions of an extensive team of SCs on sales opportunities

  • *Coach, support and develop members of team from both a product perspective as well as customer interaction

  • *Manage hiring needs and performance of team

  • *Establish and drive accountability in growing and maintaining the NetSuite culture

  • *Develop and maintain strong relationships with NetSuite cross functional leaders and executives


Qualifications/Skills:


  • *Experience in industry, pre-sales, or professional services roles with CRM and ERP applications

  • *Management experience with skill at setting the strategic direction for staff across manager-level direct reports

  • *Experience with financial application packages and understanding of accounting principles

  • *Previous experience working with software, services, and/or media companies and their business processes

  • *Ability to solve complex problems while engaging multiple cross functional resources

  • *Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with ability to solution sell and coach

  • *Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities

  • *Previous experience hiring and building a pre-sales team

  • *Previous experience developing first-line managers

  • *BA/MBA or equivalent applicable work experience

  • *Ability to work well on cohesive team

  • **Able to demonstrate strong project management skills in order to run programs to increase skillset of SC team


  • Travel: Position may travel up to 50%
