Strategic Systems Program Manager will work closely with the Air Force Strategic Program Lead and have a critical role in the development and growth in Strategic, Air force and Missile Defense business areas. The Program Manager is accountable for the design, development, and success of the platforms and solutions provided to the customer. The Program Manager will work closely with engineering subject matter experts to communicate Draper’s core technical capabilities and IRADs to potential customers and industry partners. The Program Manager will lead the detailed planning and execution of complex technical projects and report results to senior leadership.

The candidate should have a general understanding of the industrial support base and strong interest in Department of Defense programs. The candidate should be able to show past performance in the creation of new products and/or services. The candidate should be able to create Executive level presentations and engage in strategic partnership development activities. The candidate should have experience and a degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, or Computer Science.

Position is Cambridge or St. Petersburg\Florida with travel to Cambridge

10 to 15 years’ Experience in Relevant Technical Field or Industry or Business

Education: PhD, MS, MBA, or Equivalent; PMP Certification or equivalent additional certification preferred.

  • US DoD TS, SCI preferred

  • Demonstrates Leadership

  • Analytical skills including business modeling and financial analysis

  • Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering or MBSE experience a plus

  • Ability to work across teams

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to key stakeholders that effectively communicate key findings and summarize insights and implications to future work or business

  • Ability to manage complex projects:

  • Organized, detail-oriented, structured thinking and execution

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities as needed in order to meet deadlines

  • High level of independent judgment and proactivity

  • Ability to collaborate with diverse and complex stakeholders, including interacting, gaining credibility, building relationships with, and influencing others at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership

  • Self-motivation, entrepreneurialism, high energy, and the ability to successfully function in a high-demand, performance-driven environment with significant exposure to senior leadership

  • Experience developing new products and/or services with demonstrated results

  • Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences in a manner that is clear, logical, and consistent, both verbally and on paper

  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project
