As a Product Manager role you will play a critical role in shaping and driving the AI product strategies that align with Takeda's mission of improving patient outcomes within the Global Data, Digital & Technology unit. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of AI products, from ideation through development, launch, and ongoing optimization. This position requires a strategic thinker with the ability to execute and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and stakeholders. We are currently hiring a product manager within Data Science & Advanced AI which is a part of Global Data, Digital and Technology unit at Takeda. This role will respond directly to the Head of Data Science and Advanced AI. This is an individual contributor role, so you should be prepared to roll up your sleeves and flex a wide variety of skills. You will be able to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, manage through ambiguity, while keeping focus on key implementation opportunities.

How you will contribute:

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and articulate a clear product vision that aligns with the organization's business goals and GDDT strategy. Communicate this vision effectively to the development team, stakeholders, and customers.

  • Backlog Management: Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring that it is well-maintained, prioritized, and detailed to reflect the product's strategic goals and customer needs.

  • User Story Creation and Refinement: Write and refine user stories and acceptance criteria, collaborating with the development team to ensure clarity and feasibility.

  • Prioritization and Roadmap Planning: Prioritize features, bug fixes, and enhancements based on business value, customer impact, and strategic alignment. Maintain a clear and actionable product roadmap.

  • Release Planning and Execution: Coordinate with the development team and stakeholders to plan and manage product releases, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.

  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, align on priorities, and communicate product progress and changes. Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts.

  • Customer Focus and Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring that product features and enhancements meet user needs and deliver value. Gather customer feedback and use it to inform product decisions.

  • Performance Metrics and Analytics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success. Use data analytics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to product development and deployment. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.

  • Collaboration and Agile Practices: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Provide clarity and support to the development team, fostering a collaborative and agile work environment.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Education / Experience:

  • Advanced degree required e.g. Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics or similar, Masters' and MBA preferred

  • For a Master's or MBA , it is expected to have a minimum of 6 years of experience in product management in technology companies, Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, or relevant regulated industries (banking, insurance etc.), with at least 3-5 years in an IT or software development environment. Minimum 8 years of experience after bachelor's degre e.

  • Experience in a leadership role, managing cross-functional teams, and working with Agile methodologies (Scrum ) and respective certification (Certified Product Owner/CPO, Certified Product Manager/CPM or similar) is required.

  • Strong understanding of IT system ecosystems and software development lifecycle

  • Ability to work closely with technical teams to understand technical constraints and opportunities

  • Clear understanding of AI ethics

  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, focused on delivering actionable business solutions

  • Proven experience in managing complex projects , setting priorities , and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to deliver results on time and within budget

  • Proficiency in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) frameworks and best practices is a plus

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to tell a story in a clear and concise manner to technical and non-technical audiences.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
