PRODUCT MANAGER, SUSTAINING AND ESCALATIONS, edX, to serve as product owner for the escalations process and edX’s sustaining engineering roadmap. The Sustaining and Escalations team is the first point-of-contact responding to challenges arising from operating a successful, complex, consumer-facing web application. Responsibilities include defining strategy, target outcomes, priorities, and roadmap; prioritizing incoming bugs, measuring the flow of future bugs, and communicating fixes; working with engineering teams to define the execution plans for user stories; using data to understand trends and propose technical and process improvements; communicating with stakeholders from across the company to understand emerging product needs and capturing these in the form of user stories; defining the engineering backlog and technical and product requirements that will achieve desired outcomes; and defining MVP, examining tradeoffs, and managing risks. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: at least four years’ product management, project management, or related experience; demonstrated feature/project ownership (or co-ownership) and development skills; experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and other artifacts related to Agile; experience working in start-ups or other fast-moving environments; excellent conflict resolution, presentation, negotiation, and cross-group communication and collaboration skills; understanding of how to work iteratively while understanding tradeoffs; and willingness and ability to develop deep understanding of all key components of the edX platform. Must be able to remain calm under pressure and drive problem prioritization into discrete components; use data to inform decision-making and proactively update processes; and speak both technical and non-technical languages to bridge engineering with other parts of the organization to facilitate problem-solving. A solid understanding of technical concepts, especially in web and database technologies, is preferred. Job #16837-Q12/3/18
