PRODUCER/EDITOR, Office of Digital Learning (ODL)-MIT Video Productions (MVP), to support the creation of custom productions and the ongoing execution of MVP’s post-production services. Will be responsible for the creation and editing of content for MIT’s diverse client base. Duties will range from basic event editing to larger, more complex and creative projects. Work closely with MVP staff to ensure that the unit provides cost effective, technologically current, and appropriate video services and solutions to the MIT community; write proposals, treatments, and scripts; create budgets, timelines, production schedules; track level-of-effort on projects and provide status updates; manage client’s expectations of budget and delivery; provide video editorial services; troubleshoot; create engaging content for clients; and perform other duties as needed.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related film, video production, or communications area; at least seven years’ professional video post-production experience, preferably in an academic video production unit; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and highly proficient skillset with Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop; extensive knowledge of the entire video production process, including preproduction, scripting, storyboarding, production, and post-production; strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of video production projects and manage multiple and diverse tasks and deliverables on tight timelines and budgets; and an interest in and willingness to stay informed about new and rapidly changing video technologies. Required producing skills include project management, deadline and client expectation setting, talent coaching, scripting, and camera techniques. Video production skills a plus, as is knowledge of Canon DSLR and C-series camera and other field and studio production equipment.
