The Content Strategy team in C&L ensures customers have the right content, at the right time, in the right place, to achieve their goals. We create strategy to help customers get the content they need to be confident in their skills, knowledge, and capabilities so that they can be successful with our products. We collaborate across the organization to understand customer needs, align with Microsoft strategy, and leverage our portfolios of content to enable customers.

We are looking for a leader with experience in management and strategy development to lead the team that creates and drives content strategy for Microsoft products in the Data & AI space. We think of content as a product, so this role is focused on creating product strategy for content products and managing the data and artificial intelligence portfolios to ensure they meet coverage, health, and performance goals.

Responsibilities

In this cross-functional role, you will manage a team of strategy program managers and collaborate with stakeholders across Microsoft to identify and assess content opportunities, develop and validate strategy to meet customer and stakeholder needs, plan and prioritize resources, create roadmaps, pipeline content requests to the content development team, and continuously improve the portfolio of Azure technical content.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support a growing team of strategy program managers using Microsoft’s model, coach, care best practices while being invested in every team member’s growth and success.

  • Create clarity for the team, motivate them, and effectively prioritize the team’s work to deliver results.

  • Capture and understand signals from different sources to understand content needs to create a portfolio vision and strategy to accomplish it.

  • Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand their business requirements and drive their needs into effective content product strategy.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Microsoft strategy for data and AI, including the breadth and depth of data and AI products.

  • Develop and execute on long-range planning and the organization’s core objectives and key results.

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and drive initiatives in a cross functional environment.

  • Communicate content portfolio and business strategy and how the team’s work aligns to broader goals.

  • Reflect on content insights, ensure execution of the plans, measure the impact, monitor the health, and drive improvements to the content to better serve customers.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders across a wide array of disciplines and teams, including product engineering and marketing.

  • Create an inclusive work environment where every employee can effectively engage and wants to be part of the team driving customer success.

  • Provide ongoing feedback that helps your direct reports improve their performance, develops their skills, encourages a growth mindset, and supports their career aspirations.

Qualifications

You need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, program management, business development, or a similar discipline.

  • 3+ years of management experience, with demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, motivate and develop a diverse team.

It would be nice to have:

  • Knowledge of the product landscape and customer scenarios for data and AI

  • Experience with strategic foresight

  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools

  • Deep knowledge of the product landscape and customer scenarios for data and AI.

  • Deep customer obsession and the ability to define strategies that prioritize their needs.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to clearly articulate and share your vision and plans and constructively address opposing views.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across large organizations and multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Consistent application of empathy to understand customers, contributors, partners, and stakeholders from their perspective.
