Oracle Practice Director - Retail Vertical - NetSuite Professional Services in Cambridge, Massachusetts
This director position is responsible for managing business operations and resources of a given practice that can be defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsible for managing the three main pillars of a practice: people management, portfolio/delivery management and sales enablement. Has profit and loss responsibility or financial/expense management of practice.
Accountable for operational/financial metrics and overall business results of practice. Responsible for maintaining strategic direction, ensuring profitable growth of the practice, quality of consulting delivery, and maintaining customer referenceability. Develops strategy and plans to successfully implement operational policies and achieve business objectives. Accountable for managing and growing a significant revenue stream and customer base. Typically manages multiple first line managers and/or senior level individual contributors. Resolves staffing issue in complex engagements. May serve as advisor or project sponsor role for moderately complex engagements.
10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience and 2 years of project management leadership experience. Direct line Management experience including project, people, customer, financial management preferred. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the practice focus. Ability to develop and maintain relationships at the executive level. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

The Practice Director Retail Vertical has the primary responsibility to help lead and build a world class Practice for one of the company s premier business units. This involves driving customer success and retention leading to top line growth, client referenceability, and profit.
Oversee responsibility and provide leadership for a large professional services team that is growing quickly.
Responsible for providing vertical leadership and direction to the implementation and integration teams responsible for initial implementation and ongoing professional services delivery of all NetSuite products for customers and clients.
Provide day-to-day leadership to Professional Services managers by optimizing processes related to project staffing, assessing and developing consultant skills, and managing client escalations
Responsible for revenue attainment (through billable hours) and maximizing professional service profitability through accurate forecasting and effective management of the cost center.
Develop and drive strategic and operational plans for the vertical through effective planning, communication and team leadership.
Partner with sales management to ensure successful sale and delivery of professional services in addition to providing high level consultation in support of sales opportunities.
Develop relationships with customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction with the delivery of professional services.
Drive the continuous evolution of Professional Services through incorporation of best practices, consistent, high quality and repeatable solutions, and by building of strong professional services team and brand.
Serve as an industry thought leader by participating in various industry forums, panels, tech talks, etc to highlight and promote the use of NetSuite products and solutions
Preferred Qualifications/Skills include:
10 years of overall relevant professional experience and demonstrated success in building and running a professional services function, including significant experience in application solution consulting leadership roles, and ideally with large consulting and/or software providers.
Specific experience consulting to and/or working within Retail line of business or enterprise scale organizations.
A strong leader who has managed large complex projects/portfolios/teams and revenue streams.
Strong background in mid-market and enterprise-level Solution Delivery and Project Management, including experience developing work-breakdown structures and project plans.
Experience with a Big 4 consulting firm, leading systems integrator, or the professional services practice of a leading software firm is of primary interest.
Demonstrated experience in translating customer business requirements into workable software solutions
Comfortable working closely with the sales team and helping to close deals. Must have the skills to build a business and advise the team on improving delivery but with an emphasis on sales.
Demonstrated success as a customer facing executive
A proven track record of delivering services to complex enterprises ranging Fortune 500 through to early-stage startups.
Demonstrated success in driving a very high level of customer standards with impeccable attention to detail and support metrics.
A track record of enabling and developing the skills and careers of direct reports.
Proven customer engagement skills and track record of delivering, deploying and implementing large enterprise SaaS or cloud-based technologies.
Strong application solution experience ideally with ERP, CRM or similar scale solution. NetSuite and/or Oracle platform is a plus, however competitive solutions will be considered (e.g. Dynamics/Great Plains, JD Edwards, SalesForce.com, SAP, PeopleSoft, Infor).
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor and/or Master degree in a technical or business discipline.
Formal Project Management methods training is a plus.
