The Americas Azure Cloud & AI Partner Lead is responsible for executing the consulting services partner strategy within the Americas Azure Cloud & AI business. This role will work in close partnership with the One Commercial Partner Organization and the Supplier Management team and is a key contributor to the consulting services overall partner strategy. The Partner strategy includes external contractors, sub-contractors, and strategic partnerships with Systems Integrators, Advisories, and specialty providers, in support of the Services mission and strategy.


  • Partner Planning and Selection:

  • Management of the Azure Cloud & AI standardized partner list for the various onshore subcontractor delivery scenarios across US, Canada, LatAm.

  • Lead the evaluation of capabilities and suitability of potential partners, ensure consistency of selection criteria, use of standard processes, terms & conditions, and rates.

  • Govern the selection and effective usage of partners across the Americas Azure Cloud & AI delivery portfolio, and ensure high quality delivery, contractual compliance and staffing to meet or exceed business objectives and key performance indicators.

  • Collaborate with the key business stakeholders, including the partner procurement team, sales and solutions strategy team, field sales teams and the Azure Cloud & AI Americas technical and delivery leadership team to ensure alignment of Partner capabilities with business demand.

  • Manage the Azure Cloud & AI partner engagement model:

  • Manage Americas Azure Cloud & AI capacity and capability requirements for these resources in collaboration with Global Capacity Management and Americas Azure Cloud & AI leadership.

  • Lead sourcing and contracting of resources based on needs from approved partners in accordance with standard agreements in collaboration with partner procurement teams.

  • Manage effective onboarding and accreditation of partner resources prior to delivery and ensuring compliance with Microsoft values, policies and required Azure Cloud & AI delivery and operational practices.

  • Manage vendor program management staff and provide performance feedback to the partner managers on individual contractor performance.

  • Business Performance and Operational Insights:

  • Monitoring and managing productivity and profitability of these partner resources in collaboration with the Resource Management functions.

  • Govern and provide business insights related to on key performance measures, priority execution and results associated with these programs.

  • Drive capability maturity and operational excellence by identifying and executing on continuous improvement opportunities

The ideal candidate will have strong capabilities in the following areas:

  • Partner Management and Contracting – Supplier management, negotiations and contracting experience.

  • Planning, Organizing, and Executing – Lead complex projects across multiple organizations. Orchestrates plan completion across disciplines and stakeholder groups.

  • Data analysis – must be comfortable using software programs to process data and interpret the results through critical thinking and impact.

  • Business knowledge – must have a solid understanding of services business and operational fundamentals, including capacity planning, business forecasting and key business performance indicators.

  • Organization skills – High level of organization, planning, prioritization, and attention to detail.

  • Communication – Strong ability to communicate with individuals from other teams or organizations and listen carefully to how they perceive mutual issues or opportunities. Identifies areas to partner on cross-group initiatives to achieve joint or complimentary goals.

  • Adaptability – Ability to remain resilient and constructive when faced with change. Able to shift approaches when situations change.

  • Influence for impact – Demonstrates openness and acceptance to others' ideas. Ability to adapt and effectively engage and influence various stakeholders to drive business impact.


  • 10+ years of experience in consulting services required.

  • Experience building high performance teams, managing large geographically dispersed teams.

  • Ability to interact with and influence senior executives.

  • Highly comfortable in a high-paced and dynamic global team, spanning across different time zones and resilient under pressure.

  • High capacity for multitasking and project management skills, able to manage multiple, high-stakes projects and deliverables simultaneously across workgroups and stakeholders.

  • Impeccable writing and customer presentation skills, with ability to frame and communicate key messages in an effective and consumable manner.

  • Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully and autonomously.

  • High energy and a “can do” attitude, ability to motivate self and others.

  • Proven ability to listen and collaborate well - building and drawing upon a wide network, sparking great ideas, gathering, and incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders and v-teams.

  • Resourceful and solution-oriented and not afraid to ask questions if you don't know the answer.

  • Self-directed with great initiative and sense of ownership.

  • BA/BS in Business, Operations, or technical field (or equivalent skills/experience) is required. MBA is preferred.
