Microsoft Corporation Manufacturing & Automotive Industry Marketing Manager in Cambridge, Massachusetts

We are seeking a blend of knowledge for how the latest technology trends in AI can drive innovation, or how manufacturing companies can build a more resilient supply chain or how cloud technologies can enhance skills in the workforce.

The Digital Industry Marketing Team within the US Central Marketing Organization (US CMO) has an exciting role focused on acquiring new business decision maker contacts and accelerating new business within our manufacturing and automotive customers. You’ll need to build a plan to activate the market and create the content, programs, and assets across the customer lifecycle in order to activate a wide variety of marketing channels including digital, social, influencer and associations.

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Leveraging Microsoft’s narrative for manufacturing and automotive to create a marketing execution strategy including shared goals & objectives, audience targeting, content, assets & programs needed to deliver against the marketing goals for the industry (in partnership with manufacturing and automotive field marketing)

  • Lending industry expertise with passion for customer, understanding manufacturing and automotive trends, leading with digital storytelling skills to increase Microsoft’s US market relevance in manufacturing and automotive and engaging the buying committee across the buying lifecycle and across our customer segments

  • Creating a content map aligned to business outcomes and cross-solution plays and work collaboratively across the integrated marketing engines to acquire new business contacts and engaged customers

  • Provide manufacturing and automotive thought leadership by partnering closely across a v-team (manufacturing field marketing, automotive field marketing, solution marketing, partner marketing, digital and events) to land execution across our paid, earned, and owned channels

  • Providing marketing leadership by designing a digital engagement journey that increase customer engagement, light up customer stories and drive engaged influencers

  • Create strategic partnerships with industry third parties/associations to engage

  • Creating and managing a personal learning plan to stay tightly connected to manufacturing and automotive customers, partners, digital content, and influencers

  • You’ll need to demonstrate a strong growth mindset, inspiring optimism and focused on the business outcomes that are possible for our manufacturing and automotive customers

  • Strong operational management:

  • Manage and support annual planning and budget processes. Create alignment and clarity.

  • Ensure relevant marketing executions are properly set up in systems and tools for tracking reporting.

  • 100% budget utilization for your industry - Effective and accurate forecasting and spend of marketing budgets.

  • Lead Microsoft brand stewardship, ensure GDPR compliance and adhere to Microsoft Accessibility Standards and Diversity and Inclusion principles in all marketing executions.

Qualifications

Who we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of proven digital marketing experience, content marketing or marketing communications in the manufacturing and/or automotive industry.

  • Connected sales and marketing experience. Strong understanding of sales priorities and motivations and ability to advocate for marketing in conversations with sales organizations to ensure optimal customer experiences and success.

  • Must be a data-driven marketer. Must be comfortable reading and analyzing data, using it to inform marketing plans and prioritize investments and leading data discussions with key business stakeholders.

  • Must be inspired by digital marketing execution, embrace marketing automation concepts, and be obsessed with delivering a compelling customer experience through relevant, connected customer engagement.

  • Innate curiosity and desire to learn new things as well as share key learnings with others.

  • Ability to influence across a matrixed organization and inspire others towards shared goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent work experience required. MBA degree preferred but not required.
