The company is seeking a publications manager to support scientific publications, abstracts and presentations. This role will report to the company's Therapeutic Area Head for Infectious Diseases, and partner closely with the Infectious Disease Franchise including Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Epidemiology and Outcomes Research to develop a publication/ presentation strategy for each vaccine, and then implement and execute the publications process and scientific communications plan.

The successful candidate is driven, curious, collaborative, with a bold ambition to contribute to the development of ground-breaking mRNA-based vaccines. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, as is facility with the publication planning process. The candidate must have at least 5+ years prior experience developing scientific manuscripts and/or medical writing, with a deep knowledge of authorship guidelines, guidelines for presentations at scientific meetings, and other relevant requirements.

  • Develop and implement relevant Policies and SOPs for the publication authorship and review process at the company for human research.

  • Assist in growing the publications platform for the company, with an opportunity to manage a publications team as the company expands.

  • Develop, update and manage overall publications strategies and plans for individual mRNA vaccine candidates.

  • Apply project management expertise to ensure overall publication delivery to plan.

  • Develop and draft scientific manuscripts, abstracts and scientific presentations for conferences according to the applicable guidelines.

  • Provide input into journal, congress, and author selection.

  • Ensure all developed materials are appropriately reviewed according to relevant policies and SOPs.

  • Manage financial budgets for assigned projects.

  • Manage external agencies and writers in producing deliverables, as needed.

  • Partner with corporate communications and commercial teams to help customize medical material for different audiences.

  • Monitor external medical, scientific information and publishing industry landscape


  • Bachelor's in science, pharmacy, or other healthcare fields

  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with emphasis on publication authorship and strategy, and scientific communications

  • Experience leading authors and medical writers in planning and preparing manuscripts for publications

  • Prior experience with core publication activities

  • Project management skills and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of clinical trial design, epidemiology principles, statistics, and clinical trial data reporting requirements
