Kforce Major Reference Work Editorial Assistant in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Kforce has a client in search of a Major Reference Work Editorial Assistant in Cambridge, Massachusetts (MA).Summary:The ideal candidate will support the company to finalize the TOCs for selected projects. The Assistant will liaise with AEs, Editors in Chief, and Section Editors to flesh out the TOC and produce and communicate a list of first and second-choice author candidates for entries based on criteria established and communicated by project AE, and EiC and/or SE as appropriate. They will also ensure projects have full TOC and all elements are fully aligned for timely and complete transmittal to MRW Ops team.Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  • After Section Editor contract signature, to work with each SE and EiC to produce a finalized list of articles for each section (TOC Finalization) following a standard template; The project proposal developed by the AE serves as guidance to number of articles necessary and adjustments can be made in agreement of the EiC and AE

  • Work with those Section Editors who require assistance to provide names and contact information for first and second-choice author candidates for all entries within the Section TOC; As necessary provide suggestions of names based on bibliometric searches, ensuring approval by the Section Editor; Selection criteria established and communicated by project AE, with input from EiC and/or SE as appropriate

  • Provides regularly scheduled reports on projects to internal stakeholders including direct manager, AEs and Publishers

  • College degree, book publishing experience (ideally) - or interest in publishing

  • Excellent self-motivation
