Position Summary :
The opportunity is to join the dynamic asthma franchise, a key growth driver within the Sanofi organization. This will mean being entrepreneurial, thinking big, working together as a team, differentiating from our competitors and focusing on science to address the unmet needs of patients that are suffering around the world. Our ambition is to accelerate growth in transforming the treatment of diseases driven by Type 2 inflammation by driving earlier biologic treatment, to improve outcomes.
The role’s primary responsibility will be to lead the development and execution of innovative brand marketing strategies and tactics that will differentiate our product, to create a best-in-class experience for all stakeholders. The Head of Global Asthma Marketing will also collaborate to ensure that the marketing strategy is consistent across respiratory indications (both asthma & CRSwNP), to support and strengthen the overall franchise.
The Head of Global Mktg – Asthma will lead a team of marketing professionals covering HCP marketing and patient marketing.
This position is based in Cambridge, MA and will report to Global Brand Lead - Respiratory
Responsible for the successful development and execution of the global asthma marketing strategy, to support ongoing worldwide country launches
Differentiate from competition and support development of high-impact, global patient-focused strategy and tactical initiatives to drive a best-in-class brand experience for all asthma customers
Solicit ongoing input from priority countries/regions, and provide clear direction on local country asthma implementation
Engage external asthma stakeholders to ensure strategy includes customer insights
Co-develop the asthma brand strategy in partnership with cross-functional colleagues, to ensure aligned objectives and tactical implementation across the broader team
Work collaboratively with alliance partner (Regeneron) on asthma strategy development
Monitor and support asthma country launch readiness and launch performance
Ensure consistency across all respiratory indications, with focus on alignment of the asthma and CRSwNP marketing strategies, to support and strengthen the overall franchise
Manage annual budgets, ensuring strategic allocation of funds and monthly tracking
Manage advertising agency partner and other vendors to ensure execution towards objectives
Attract, develop, and retain talent to foster a best in class global asthma marketing team
Bachelor's degree in life sciences, marketing or business required
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in product/brand management, sales management and/or strategic marketing
Experience in international marketing (non-U.S.) within a complex, global commercial pharmaceutical or biotechnology organization
Strong Global HCP marketing background with expertise in execution across all channels
In-depth understanding of the respiratory market, and external expert network
Product launch experience in specialty care/biologics
Experience collaborating with cross-functional groups, made up of the following: Marketing, Sales, R&D, Medical Affairs, Market Research, Finance, Forecasting, etc.
Comfortable leading in a matrix environment without direct authority
Line management/team leadership experience
Proven ability to work across different countries and different cultures
Experience managing an advertising agency and related budgets
Second degree, e.g. MBA, PhD, M.Sc.
Experience working in an alliance, with validated history of partnering and influencing
Passionate, confident and comfortable in team environment
Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical skills, strategic thinking and prioritization capacity
Ability to process complex information, then simplify and communicate it effectively with others
Demonstrated ability to understand and anticipate customer needs (internal and/or external)
Proven ability to cooperate transversally and lead in an ambiguous environment across different functions and company cultures
Strong organizational and project management capabilities
Performance orientation and ability to work and deliver along agreed timelines
High level of Interpersonal and communication skills
Readiness to travel (up to 35% of time)
