  • Self-starter capable of completing assignments independently with minimal supervision.

  • A strong eye for design and commitment to delivering high-quality results.

  • Ability to explore and adapt to new skills and technologies.

Design and Creative Development

  • Create designs and assets for a variety of HHR projects and programs.

  • Develop graphics and visual elements for annual reports, presentations, advertisements, branded collateral, event materials, social media, and motion graphics.

  • Design and distribute marketing emails and newsletters that effectively engage target audiences.

  • Adapt existing design materials for use across different formats and media as needed.

  • Collaborate on the development of polished and impactful presentation decks for departmental use.

  • Participate in the full creative cycle, from brainstorming to strategy to design to production, across a wide array of print and digital projects.

  • Prepare final files to approved specifications, pre-flighting, packaging, and uploading to vendors for print.

Brand Stewardship

  • Act as a brand ambassador by guiding colleagues on brand guidelines, ensuring consistent adherence to visual standards, copyright and trademark compliance, and ADA compliance.

  • Develop and update brand assets, including templates, logos, color schemes, patterns, and photographic treatments.

  • Manage project timelines to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality work.

Other Responsibilities

  • Stay updated on emerging design software, trends, and techniques through professional seminars or Harvard-provided training.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Harvard Human Resources (HHR) seeks a talented and collaborative creative professional dedicated to designing high-quality visual materials that support HHR’s initiatives. This position is a unique opportunity to shape how HHR communicates with staff and stakeholders across the University.

Reporting to the Associate Director, HR Communications, the Graphic Designer will work collaboratively with the Communications team and other HHR colleagues to deliver visually compelling content that advances HHR’s mission.

The Graphic Designer will develop impactful designs for a variety of digital and print media, including social media graphics, annual reports, presentation decks, branded collateral, event materials, and more. As a steward of the HHR brand, the Graphic Designer will ensure all visual materials uphold brand standards and accessibility requirements while contributing to a cohesive and professional identity.

This role requires strong creative and production skills, a keen eye for design, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
