EDUCATION ASSOCIATE, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to support the development and implementation of innovative education programs aimed at building global capacity in program evaluation and development economics--MITxMicroMasters in Data, Economics, and Development Policy (DEDP) (https://micromasters.mit.edu/dedp/) and MIT Master’s in DEDP. Specific responsibilities include supporting course and content management; assisting with the supervision of course forums and supporting TAs by helping to answer content-related questions; overseeing the implementation of proctored exams on the edX platform, including supporting the TAs as they write exams and providing learner support for exam taking; supporting the building of relationships with key partners in governments, NGOs, foundations, multilateral aid agencies, and universities worldwide; contributing to creating materials for program outreach, including marketing products for various audiences; and serving as liaison between J-PAL Global, J-PAL’s regional offices, MIT’s Office of Open Learning, and edX. REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in economics, public policy, or a closely related field, including coursework in microeconomics, econometrics, and development economics; two years of relevant work experience; strong data analysis skills and comfort working in STATA and/or R; attention to detail; strong writing and strategic thinking skills; self-motivation; and the ability to handle multiple projects at once with little supervision, meet deadlines, and effectively manage time.
