Candidates must have at least five years of experience in print, broadcast, audio, or video journalism.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:The editor must have excellent writing and editing skills, work well independently and on deadline, and adhere to the highest standards of journalistic accuracy and ethics. Proficiency in WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other programs is a plus.Additional Information:

This position has a 3-month orientation and review period.

The editor will build and maintain a network of freelance contributors; commission and edit stories from them; and write original pieces for posting on the Storyboard website and for promotion through social media channels, including a weekly online newsletter. New items are published at least twice a week, along with shorter posts in response to news and developments around narrative nonfiction.

The editor is also expected to develop, produce, and host a podcast focused on narrative journalism and nonfiction storytelling.

The position reports to the Nieman Foundation’s deputy curator.

The Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard is seeking an editor for Nieman Storyboard, its online publication which showcases exceptional narrative journalism and explores the craft and future of nonfiction storytelling. The site publishes features such as annotations of news articles and other narrative nonfiction pieces, interviews with writers and producers, and tips from veteran storytellers working across different media – text, audio, and visual.
