DIRECTOR OF PROSPECT MANAGEMENT, Resource Development-Office of Prospect Development, to collaborate with the senior director of prospect development on setting strategic goals for the prospect management needs of the Institute and design and implement prospect management deliverables that meet those needs most efficiently and effectively. Will provide leadership to a team that supports the entire MIT fund-raising community by directing the management of the Institute's entire prospect pool to ensure that the best prospects are being actively managed by the most appropriate frontline fund-raiser; be responsible for all hiring, orientation, performance reviews, performance management, terminations, and ongoing support for staff; and track budgets and manage a portfolio of prospect management tools--in collaboration with the other members of the Prospect Development team--that are essential to effective portfolio and prospect management. Prospect Development contributes to the fund-raising efforts of the Institute by collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information to direct and inform solicitation and engagement strategy for prospective donors. It promotes a culture of donor-centric fund-raising in order to build meaningful donor relationships and strong philanthropic connections to the Institute.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; at least five years of prospect development or similar experience; two years of supervisory or management experience; superior organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy; excellent oral and written communication skills; advanced-level technical skills, including the ability to manipulate databases; and the ability to build strong partnerships with clients and team members and work independently when appropriate. Advanced degree desirable. Experience with the Advance database preferred. Experience working within a complex development operation is also preferred. Job #16924-Q 1/2/19
