The Sustainability Team, part of the Industry Solutions organization, is accountable for leveraging deep industry and technical expertise to enable sales teams and partners to deliver relevant, customized industry solutions and services, built on a secure, integrated cloud platform, that empower our customers to digitally transform their businesses. As a Director of Business Program Management, you will partner with the Chief of Staff for Sustainability and be responsible for the overall rhythm of the business (ROB) while leveraging strategy plans to inform structure, key performance indicators (KPIs), and budget. You will drive business value by working collaboratively with both customers and Microsoft teams. You will be expected to create clarity in a complex organizational environment and collaborate across organizations to develop business plans and budgets that help ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts. This role is flexible in that you will be able to work from home or the office.


  • Drive the development and execution of the rhythm of business (ROB) for the team. Drives strategy initiatives and helps facilitate for ROB; uses strategy plans to inform structure and business insights to predict business outcomes.

  • Set up new business: develop and implement best practices from Microsoft and customer/partner experiences; including processes, systems, KPIs, OKRs, and vendor teams

  • Organize and track performance governance in partnership with Finance and Microsoft Customer and Partners Solutions (MCAPS) central Marketing & Operations (M&O) and regional Subs M&O; investment performance of pilots and new innovative market growth measures

  • Leverages deep knowledge of organizational strategy and planned deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design budgets. Develops forecasting plans in partnership with the leadership team. Works in partnership with Finance to approve the budgets.

  • Oversees the development of metrics for tracking field accountability and performance; identifies actions that can be taken to course-correct and drive performance improvement; anticipates business challenges based on forecasts and develops plans accordingly; contributes knowledge to strategic investment decisions.

  • Drives cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and to manage complex business needs.

  • Leads project/program management to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple disciplines and business organizations. Leads strategic innovation and experimentation. Creates clarity on ambiguous projects and develops plan for execution.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 7+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • Proven PMO/project management experience desired: ability to simplify and structure complexity into order and harmony; ability and happiness working in fast-pace innovative environment where iteration and pivots will continue as Microsoft matures its own sustainability journey; comfort with change and helping others learn

The salary range for this role in the state of Colorado is from $144,600 to $216,600.
