Philips Director, New/Digital Services Product Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts

As our Director for the New & Digital Services Product Management, you will drive superior customer value through deep understanding of customer needs and commercial success criteria. You will:

  • Define requirements for New digital services (Device/Fleet mgmt. Device, Analytics & Insights, Remote Software Management, Virtual Access i.e Collaboration Live) development, as well as launch activation and life-cycle management. The requirements are driven by customer and region needs aligned with overall ultrasound portfolio category strategy. Products/offerings are made up of equipment and/or software applications and/or professional services and/or lifecycle services and/or accessories and disposables.

  • Lead the engineering partnership for program management of the services requirements into the ultrasound platforms and central infrastructure requirements in order to drive customer innovation efforts with new services.

  • Define and implement New/Digital services product/offerings roadmap, and/or a service/serviceability digital transformation tooling roadmap.

  • Provides management and/or strategic leadership & direction for the development of E2E services delivery innovation.

You are responsible for

  • Management of a team of product managers, technical product managers and program managers focus on driving innovative new offerings and execution across the Ultrasound product portfolio

  • Drive definition, development, introduction and maintenance of new/digital Ultrasound services, in line with portfolio strategy, to get the optimal combination of performance and price in time

  • Accountable for value proposition development based on customer insights, including health economics for lead markets

  • Develop claims roadmaps for portfolio, product, lifecycle and professional services, software

  • Responsible for building and realization of the business case

  • Responsible for pricing (price setting in collaboration and alignment with pricing CoE) and margin optimization of the new services

  • Guide the channel strategy for the assigned portfolio

  • Accountable for compliance with quality & regulatory requirements

  • Responsible for lifecycle management (including phase-in and phase-out) and market readiness as part of PDLM. Ensure completion of appropriate deliverables and knowledge transfer (feature descriptions, value propositions, costing/pricing/quoting materials, etc.)

  • Utilize customer, segment and market insights as provided by MI&A team for decision making on portfolio

  • Provide input to MI&A team on industry and competitive trends

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the development of customer and sales education materials

  • Support in delivery of training (when needed) to resources in markets to enable proper transfer of knowledge

  • Define, coordinates and implementing Services innovation roadmap (3-5 year scope), which is part of the overall business roadmap. This also includes translation of new services (professional services, education, solution delivery &/or support) offerings into new product release specific service requirements.

  • Organizes the input gathering from the different internal and external stakeholders (marketing, development, operations as well as the sales regions, key markets and service & solution delivery teams) and realize an alignment between the different parties in order to create a roadmap that is recognized as the right services to realize long-term targets.

  • Will drive the key technical product requirements for key New services capabilities for Ultrasound remote serviceability, remote software management, LEM/licensing, field systems tools and more.

  • Manage services customer innovation efforts and requirements roadmap with Ultrasound categories and engineering platform teams.

You are part of

the Global Services Team for Ultrasound. You will work closely with product management services peers, Ultrasound category product management leaders and region partners. The team operates in an open atmosphere and is characterized by a “self-starting” and “results driven” mentality.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.

  • 10 years of work experience in healthcare/med-tech product and services businesses in B2B environment

  • Program management and cross-functional/cross-business execution experience

  • Medical product and/or Customers Services marketing experience a must – with desired on digital/remote services.

  • Good understanding of Healthcare customer needs, product

  • All aspects of Product management including customer insights, value proposition generation, pricing, BC, communications, region activation and planning

  • Ultrasound and/or digital/informatics experience including connectivity and digitalization

  • Strong strategic Business drive and experience in development of new business models (e.g. subscriptions, pay-per-use, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of P&L including revenue & margin management

  • Customer intimacy: driven by a strong external focus

  • Tenacious, and aggressive towards achieving business objectives

  • Problem Solving skills. Able to find solutions to difficult or complex issues. Drives continuous improvement via Lean

  • Bringing people together and aligning them around common goals; leverages the power of Philips independent from organizational structures and reports

  • Ability to build and nurture effective relationships within the matrix by developing strong cooperation with peers within the market, cross business, and cross function

  • Works in multinational environment with strong personal communication skills able to inspire, convince and mobilize people

  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company

  • Identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas

  • Thinks conceptually from a broad business perspective taking both strategic as well as operational aspects into consideration
